Theodora (Theo) Stephan, founded Global Gardens® in 1998 as Santa Barbara, CA’s only complete-line specialty food company. She was a burnt-out 20-year veteran of graphic design, having won over 200 awards in brand development and marketing.
Her love for gardening, travel and entertaining with worldly flavors along with creating package design resulted in her combining her passions and becoming the most awarded Extra Virgin Olive Oil producer in southern California.
Theo originated the world’s first mail-order Olive Oil & Vinegar quarterly food club, The Olive Revolution®, offering her own recipes for each season’s EVOO and gourmet food product selections with a generous bounty of discounts and promos from her Santa Barbara wine country destination store.
She enjoys teaching people how to cook healthy, flavorful recipes in an easy to understand style, focusing on what’s fresh and in season. Her first cookbook, Olive Oil & Vinegar For Life: Delicious Recipes for Healthy Caliterranean™ Living, describes how she transcended her career and delves into the history, production/manufacturing/ nutritional aspects and the many flavor profiles of olive oil & vinegar to be used on a daily basis in our diets for sustained health and flavorful cooking. Over 240 full-color photos in the book were taken mostly by the author, showing a Caliterranean lifestyle of food, nutrition and environment we can create anywhere.
