Extra Virgin Olive Oil
All Global Gardens olive oils are Extra Virgin First Cold Pressing Olive Oils from the most current harvest. Most of our oils are California Certified Organic, others are pesticide-free. We pride ourselves in educating our customers at our Destination Store in downtown Los Olivos, CA on all the different flavor nuances of olive oils as they relate to their varietals and environmental (terroir) surroundings. Each of our descriptions here describe those nuances...but you have to taste them to believe them!
Everyone asks us about cooking with olive oil; the answer is a resounding YES YOU CAN!! We do everything with olive oil—even baking of all types. The smoke point of a "real" extra virgin olive oil is almost 400 degrees, so use it for sautéing, stir fry dishes or even frying! It's all about the kind of pan you use. We prefer Le Creuset or cast iron for most cooking and a heavy cast iron wok for stir fry. Commercial fryers made for home use are pre-set at 365 degrees; our fruity Greek olive oils come in large bottles and are best for frying, using the same oil up to 5 times without losing healthy polyphenols.
