PRIMO Olio Nuovo
Folks, this is a highly sought after bottle. Rarely is Olio Nuovo available. This is our SWEET 16th harvest and best OLIO NUOVO EVER! And, this year, we are bottling a Koroneiki/Mission/Manzanilla estate as our NUOVO. We are so proud of this PRIMI NUOVO...we called it "PRIMO" because this is from our 1st harvest in early November, 2016. We'll have another NUOVO from our late harvest, December, 2016.
Why is OLIO NUOVO so rare? Typically, the fresh oil coming off the press is way too peppery and spicy on the back of the palate. Because of this, we let the fruit settle in the barrels for 3-4 months prior to bottling. But once in a blue moon something magical happens. And it did this harvest. Our Certified Organic PRIMO NUOVO left a harmonious joy on the back of our palates right away that said, "Spaghetti! Goat cheese! Flat Bread! Fingers! Toes!" So we didn't wait the 3-4 months. We bottled it right away!
There are three distinctive layers of flavor in our PRIMO Olio Nuovo: lush, dense green olive, a mid-tone of fruit and then a rush of pepper and herbs, courtesy of the terroir of our famous olive grove. Comes in Theo's favorite blue, 375ml bottle, to celebrate the Greek varietal we're getting so well known for, the Koroneiki, included in this amazing, wild & wonderful NUOVO blend
