This protein-healthy syrup adds a rich, flavorful dimension to French toast, pancakes and desserts.
TIP: Don’t cook this ahead of time, but just prior to serving. If it thickens too much, heat again and serve; it doesn’t work at room temperature like regular pancake syrups!
1/2 cup organic sugar
1/4 cup Ascolano or Koroneiki EVOO
1 organic egg, beaten
1. Stir all ingredients together in a small skillet into a paste.
2. Stir constantly over low-medium heat, about 10 minutes.
